iPhone Photos

So thanks to my daughter I learned how to put my pictures from my iPhone onto my computer. So now I can show you a few more photos from our Dallas trip!

Okay once we got there, Todd decided to let me do a little shopping first as opposed to driving out to the racetrack just to see what was up and maybe get a Saturday race in as well as the Sunday race that was planned. Good thing he made that decision because that night race was cancelled because of weather. So that drive to the track would have been in vain! We headed out to the Galleria Mall which is nothing like any malls near me. The ice skating was fun to watch. As a matter of fact the restaurant where we ate supper was right there near the rink so you could watch. We enjoyed that and the mexican food was GREAT.

There was this great candy shop there too. How in the world do they sell all that candy before it ruins?!

This was the view from the elevator at the Hilton where we stayed. Did I mention this was all a gift from our family? What a great family! (Who would be just as great without gifts by the way)

This was from the first day at the racetrack. We were trying to stay warm and dry. Boy was I glad I brought that blanket with me! Sure came in handy for like 4 hours! lol

Somehow we ended up at Olive Garden at some point before we left town. Todd does not eat Pasta! But he does eat STEAK! He said it was great. I ate the short ribs with risotto! It was unbelievable!

I am glad that I can use my iPhone for pictures on my blog now from time to time.

Off to the Races!

Well we had a different kind of few days around here.

It all started way back in November. That's when the man of the house had a birthday. The kids decided they wanted to get their dad something he would really LOVE for his birthday. So Casey did some calling around and got some prices... She found out, that if this was to be done, she was going to need a couple more folks pitching in so she gave Todds mom, and my mom a call and they were up for pitching in to help get this gift for him.

What a nice gift it was. Two Tickets to a NASCAR race. This particular race was in Dallas at Texas Motor Speedway. Along with the tickets he also got 2 nights at Dallas Hilton Lincoln Center. What a nice place we had to stay. Um, needless to say Todd did say that this was his best birthday present ever! So we got up early Saturday and went off on a road trip. This was Downtown Dallas as we were getting in. Yea, it was cloudy and a little rainy. And by the way I think something must really be wrong with me. I HATE, did you hear that, HATE interstate driving, and apparantly Interstate riding as well. It made me so nervous being in all of that traffic. I seriously dont know why it makes me so uptight, but man was I glad when we made it to the hotel. It was beautiful and huge. I particularly loved this spot. Can you believe it was cool enough for a fire in Texas. I couldnt. Ok so the race was scheduled for Sunday and we got up, got ready, and were off to the races. Um, there was one little thing. RAIN That rain turned out to be a pretty big thing. Believe it or not I left my camera in the car so there are no rain pictures! I do have some on my phone but I am not saavy enough to have figured out how to get them onto my computer. I guess if I would stop long enough to fiddle with it I could probably do that. Anyway after sitting around, standing around and trying to stay dry and warm for like four hours. We finally decided to go back to the hotel and if they decided to race we would turn around and come back. So we packed up and hiked back to the car and left. We turned on the radio and listened to the race commentary or whatever you call it and shortly after we left they announced that the race had been postponed until Monday. So Monday was supposed to be the day we were driving home. But instead we went to the race! The day was much nicer. It was real cloudy and cool but thankfully no rain! We got to see the race and Todd LOVED it! Our guy - Jeff Gordon 24 - was in the lead for most of the race. I was pretty glad that Jeff was going to win while we were there since Todd is a fan of his. But then with, I think 17 laps left, Tony Stewart tipped into the back end of Jeffs car and crashed him out. So we were disappointed that Jeff was out of it. But we really had a good time

and were so blessed by our family that we were able to have that experience. He loved his birthday gift. He definitely wants to go back sometime. So you know there are more birthdays, anniversaries, and Christmases ahead! hint hint lol Oh by the way, Todd took several pictures of me and then I realized I needed to tell him to press the button half way down to focus! lol But after I told him that he did a pretty good job! :) See I told you our hotel was beautiful. Oh and did I mention that it had a shuttle (so you dont have to get out in the traffic!) to the Galleria Mall! With such stores in it as Tiffany & Co., Betsey Johnson, Coach, American Girl, and so many other very expensive stores that were neat to just see since I of course couldnt buy anything from them! hehehe Not to mention the ice skating rink!! What a nice time we had making more memories with each other. :)

Louder and Busier

This weekend Todd and I are spending a very quiet time at home alone. Josh went to the Catfish Festival after work. Thats probably what we should have done. I am sure he is having fun. We enjoyed it last year. But this weekend we just decided to stay here. Casey Charlie and Avery went to the zoo in Monroe. I am sure that was nice. Hope I get to see pictures. I wonder if Avery loved it? It is nice and quiet here and we are enjoying the restful time. Tonight we have a dinner to go to with the people he works with and their wives/dates. That should be nice. For now though I am finishing up working on some of Joshuas graduation invitations finally and just enjoying the quiet. Thought I would jump on here and show you a few more pictures from the much louder and busier last weekend. So when the guys all get together around here they love to shoot some hoop. That is what they did. BASKETBALL They love it. It was a little tiring. Avery really wanted to get in on the action and the guys really didnt want to land on her, so Gigi strapped her in the stroller and went around the block for a nice walk. I guess that was tiring as well because when they got back she was out like a light! She even stayed asleep after Gigi brought her in. She napped on her mom for a nice little while.
Josh and Charlie take these things pretty seriously! Of course Todd was all smiles. They had a good time. I cant remember who won. I am sure they do though. We had a real good Easter weekend. I think Avery always counts it good when she can see Nonna AND Gigi in the same weekend. That girl LOVES her Gigi.

Weekends are GREAT

It took me a while to get these photos ready. I have been crazy busy at work which means I have been completely exhausted in the evenings. But I finally got them done so here is a post of pictures from Easter Weekend.
On Saturday the guys went golfing again and had a good time again! The girls did not go along on this trip. We stayed here at Nonna's house. Avery spent some time practicing hop, hop, hopping. She was really good at it too.

She chased some bubbles.

When they got back from the golf course, Josh showed up with a little surprise. They named him Hulk!

For that Avery gave Josh one of her beloved kisses!Poppa didn't give her the turtle but he got kisses and hugs anyway. I guess just because he is Poppa! And`No, he didn't wear that golfing. He came in and changed clothes really quickly because he was planning on going somewhere else. But`I guess that hug pulled some heart strings because he decided to stay with us. :)

Unfortunately Hulk must not have enjoyed his high rise apartment we found for him.
Or maybe he thought we were too crazy around here or something because it did not take him long to escape and run away. :(

We enjoyed our weekend again because weekends are GREAT!

Oh and I just added this picture because I LOVE it!
So we are almost to another weekend which I am looking forward to. Come on Weekend!!!!

Another Week of Not Me's

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Ok so unfortunately this week was full of things that did not happen to me! Especially the first one...

No one asked me: "Do people ever ask you if you're pregnant?" She didn't even go on to explain that she herself had gained 30 pounds and she had people ask HER that. And no way, did I let it upset me to the point of a few tears on the ride home. That would be STUPID, so it did not happen. At least that's what I'd like to think.

I did not, the very next morning get up early and make sure my belly, and the rest of me were on the treadmill!
After my workout I did not make a pot of coffee. When I came to pour myself a cup, the coffee pot was full of water. I absolutely did not think to myself, 'How did that water go through those grinds and get into that pot clear?' Of course I did not think that. I am not an idiot. I did not then figure out that I forgot to pour the water into the top of the pot. -OKAY give me a break, I hadnt had my morning coffee yet!

I did not forget my purse in a restaurant and get all the way home before noticing.

I did not plan on going IN at Dairy Queen that night. I was only going to drive through with Todd to get his beloved DQ soft serve. We didnt end up going inside. No, because there were people in there who didnt need to see me with my hair looking like that, and (shhhh-without makeup!) THAT WASNT ME! It wasnt me...

I AM NOT really forgetful lately!

I did not come home from work completely wiped out one day this week and decide to take a little short power nap before fixing supper as soon as I got home at 4 oclock. I did not tell Todd to wake me in 20 or 30 minutes. It is impossible that I woke up when Josh got home from work a few minutes after 6:00. No way that happened because that would mean that I power napped for TWO hours! That could not have happened because I dont even take naps!
That was this week wasn't it? I forget...
