Just thinking
When I was a little girl I can remember believing that if I crashed the TV set in, I would be right in the presence of Donny Osmond with his purple socks and microphone. I guess I thought I would let him out and he would climb right into my living room. It's a good thing I never acted on that belief.
I believed that if I wrapped my blanket around my wrist at night, if someone came in to kidnap me, my blanket would be drug with me. Therefore no one would see my jammies.
I believed it was stupid to believe in the devil who had red horns and a pitch fork.
Thinking on these things reminds me of 1 Corinthians 13:11 "When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things."
When I was a child, that is how I thought because I was -- A CHILD. Now you would think since I am no longer a child my thinking would be sooooo much different. Of course I know that I cant bust into a television set to see movie stars... (TV's are way too skinny now anyway.) I know that I don't have to wrap myself up so no one will see my jammies and I am pretty sure I am not going to be kidnapped. I no longer think it is stupid to believe in the devil. he is out to kill, steal, and destroy me and mine. (These days I dont think he has red horns and a pitch fork by the way.) But what are some of the things I think on that are just as childish? Even though we grow up we still sometimes hang on to childish attitudes, dont we?
This is a reminder to think about what we are thinking about! LOL Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on things that are true, honest, just, pure and lovely. Sometimes I think on things like I did when I was a child. Sometimes I think on things that arent those things in Philippians 4:8. When we begin to pay attention to the things we think about, and when we start to think on these things in this scripture, we find ourselves in a much better mood. We find ourselves with a better attitude. We find ourselves more pleasing to our God, our Father, our creator. Verse 12 of 1 Corinthians 13 tells us that even as we grow we dont see all of God. We dont see things perfectly clearly or fully. That explains our tendency to think things that arent the best way to think.
But there will be a day when we will see our Lord face to face! It will then all be crystal clear. Oh what a day!

Vacation
We have been on a little vacation. First we stopped to visit with Mark at his house. Todd was sure he could beat his son at pool. Um, he was wrong. But he did have fun trying.I even played a game. No I didnt win. It could happen! :) So then we moved on to San Antonio and had a great time visiting with our niece and nephew and their new babies. Mickey was real excited to see his new grandson Ryan. Isn't he precious. He was equally excited about seeing his grandson Grayson and his children Stephanie and Zach. We all had a good time at the pool in the hotel. Of course there was the usual wrestling. The guys had a good time in the hot tub. We went to Schlitterbahn which was really fun. Of course I didnt bring my camera in there so no pictures from that. We went to the RiverWalk in San Antonio too. It was beautiful there. We took a boat ride with tons of photo opportunities but silly ole me left my camera in the trunk of my car which we were suppose to drive but ended up riding with Stephanie thus my camera got left in the trunk!!!! I was disappointed but I got over it. We are definitely going to have to make another trip there and bring my camera next time.
Ok so I will leave you with one more picture of each of the babies Here's one last look at the newest - Ryan 3 weeks old
And one last look at the big guy - Grayson almost 10 months

Road Trip
So- We, (Me, my daughter, and her daughter) took off on a road trip this past weekend. We made it fine with one wrong turn and one almost wrong turn. We got there and back in one piece. Avery Grace did AMAZING! I was a little concerned about how long she would be able to stay in that car seat. We had planned to stop whenever she needed to. Actually though, we only stopped twice going up. Once was because of the wrong turn or- exit to be exact. The other was for fuel. Then coming home we only stopped once at lunch! She was ready to stop then for sure but really was excellent! We were so proud of her. She had a good time at Grandma's. She LOVED Bogie (my moms Yorkie-Tzu). I knew she would. She loves animals. She just chased Bogie all around. He was really good with her and she was really easy with him too. She was really good while we were there. I think we may have worn her out though. We played outside. The weather wasnt too terribly hot. So we enjoyed moms yard.We got to see and enjoy a home cooked meal with my sister and her husband. I brought the bubbles, so we did that too. Avery loved chasing them around the yard. Chasing dogs, cats, and bubbles did make for a tired baby at times. I love how she hunts for her blankie when she wants it and then when she finds it she holds it close and pats it. It's so sweet.
It was fun to watch Avery play with the dog. She would get so excited when he would grab his toy from her. She chased him around with it wanting him to take it from her. This is the face she would make when he did.
I am so glad we got to go and I am so so glad that Casey and Avery went with me. Every little girl should get to spend time with their Great Grandmother, especially when they are as Great as hers is!

A first - but not for Avery
I am off to see my mom! Ok this is a first for me. I have never gone without Todd. Now I cant say I am going alone. I am not. Its a girls trip, Me, Casey and Avery. So please say a prayer for us. I am pretty nervous about doing this trip without Todd, so thats one prayer please. Then, Avery has never been that far in the vehicle yet. (Around 6 hours). So please pray that she does fantastic. I am excited to see Mom and excited for her to see Avery. She hasnt seen her since this picture. Been a while. Man how things change. So I hope to see my brother and sister too. It's a shame we see so little of each other. Anyway I am sure that later on I will have tons of pictures from the trip to share.

Fourth Celebration
We went Thursday afternoon and picked up Miss Avery Grace. We had a great time together while mommy worked and Miss Tina (Day Care) took Friday off. We played in the little pool in the yard. She learned how to climb in and out all by herself. She loved for me to swing her in her swing. Now, she doesn't look really excited about it here but she was enjoying it believe me. She loves just sitting back and letting you swing her. We enjoyed our time together. She was very generous with kisses to her Poppa but not so much (or at all) to her Nonna. What's up with that? I always knew he would be the favoriteLast night we decided to take her to her very first fireworks display. So off we went. She had a GREAT time. Wouldn't you say? She LOVED meeting new friends, and dancing, and squealing. Before the fireworks went off we got a surprise. Avery's mommy and daddy showed up early. She was excited to see them. They weren't suppose to come until Saturday morning! She was glad they got to enjoy her first fireworks with her. I remember when Casey was her age and for a few years after when we went to fireworks displays she wanted no part of it. She cried and was frightened. Avery though was mesmerized. She sat without looking away for the longest. She kept pointing to them and looking at us as if to ask us if we saw them too. I was looking forward to taking pictures of the fireworks too. You know something besides Avery! LOL At first the shots I got were ok but then I switched to the night time setting and man were they better. I was excited how good they turned out. :) Today I cooked and baked for the family. It was delicious. Once again I did make the macaroni and cheese from my friend Pennys recipe. Once again it was not as good as hers even though I followed her recipe WORD FOR WORD, INGREDIENT FOR INGREDIENT! Honestly I think she is leaving something out just so mine wont be as good as hers? You think she would stoop to that level??? Just kidding! :) What a great way to celebrate the Fourth! Well I am off to have another helping of macaroni and Cheese, Happy Fourth!

One more
Thought I was going to do a Wordless Wednesday post. I decided though that this needed words. At first for some crazy reason Sebastian was scared of the water balloons. He didnt want to be near them or touch them. I cant imagine why. Finally his daddy talked him into it. He had a great time throwing and busting them. I loved this picture. First for the sweet excited expression on his face, after seeing how unsure he was of them in the beginning. Second because of the splash caught on camera.
