Who can guess what the guys do while we wait for the Crawfish to boil?

Of course! They throw the football, what else?

This is what happens when he is wearing those glasses and Jake throws the football right at his head when he isnt looking. :( P.S. glasses are broke! :( Guess he will have to get a new look.

There was also a lot of jumping going on.I really enjoy great weekends like that one. I am so blessed with such a great family and a whole host of friends who we feel are almost like family too. I thank God for our blessings every day!

Out In The Sun

We had fun out in the sun!

We colored eggs.

Some of us got our hands all messy.
Avery painted on glitter! Little girls love sparkles.
When one egg was cracked and peeled Avery was going to hold it. But when she felt it she said "Eww". Then she decided to only hold it with a napkin under it. It was "grossy". :)

Mark gave Avery a treat basket, cause Uncles are good like that.
The whole family enjoyed the sunshine.
Some day way too soon, it will be much too uncomfortable to sit out back in the HEAT. But for last weekend we had fun out in the sun.

Louisiana Easter

What do you cook for Easter Dinner in Louisiana?

Crawfish of course.

Ha Just kidding. We did have the traditional dinner at lunch but later on we did our very first crawfish boil.

I have only tasted crawfish a couple of times. I like the taste but not so much the peeling process. The cooker we were using belongs to Tance. We had the whole crew here to enjoy the many Crawfish we cooked up. I say "we" lightly. Mark and Tance actually did most of the cooking up, which was nice since I did the ham and all the other stuff earlier in the day. Have I ever mentioned that we eat a lot around here. Just checkin. Anyway I got to do this during the cooking for a change.

Here is how the process goes.
First you fill up your ice chest with these critters.
Then you let them crawl on you. Well if you are Charlie you do.
Set up the pot.
You gotta make sure its level.
Then you cook up the sauce.Add some deliciousness and stir.

Throw in some shrimp if you want, we wanted.
Pull your hair up cause its hot! It's Louisiana people!

Cook until it looks like this.

Take it out of the boiler

Pour it on the table

And enjoy with lots of friends and family!

I think Mark could make it on one of those crazy Louisiana shows that are on TV now, dont you?

Thats what we did. It was sooooo much fun.

Physical Therapists

Saturday I got to do some photos for friends.

Andy is graduating soon. He will soon be a Physical Therapist. As a matter of fact he and Shelby both will be Physical Therapists when all their schooling is done.

He wanted some graduation pictures so I agreed. I think I got some good shots. I was pleased. I sure hope they were.

I got to the riverwalk a little earlier than they did so I walked around a bit. It was so beautiful out there. It was so relaxing and quiet. I took advantage and spent a few minutes praying for the sweet couple before they got there. It was nice to pray and walk and listen to the sound of birds and an occasional vehicle going across the bridge over head. I really gotta get up there more often. At least before it gets too Louisiana hot!
